Omiš

Omis – an enchanting little town, distinguished by interesting history and peculiar position, situated at the very mouth of the gorgeous Cetina River – gives a unique feeling to each traveller. Omis was first mentioned in X. century. Beneficial position brought to the city a good defence during history.

In middle ages piracy was for the people from Omis very important way of getting wealth. Omis pirates were very famous. And the pisiton of the city was very helpful, as also theirs light and fast vessels.
